"You might like to hear about our special search for the Sun Blossoms. My husband had passed away that week at the hospital after a long, long fight against congestive heart failure. We had 48 years together, and were childhood sweethearts. We have 2 grown daughters with families, and they have all been wonderful. Our life, as the minister said, was framed by music. My husband played in many bands - symphonic, Dixieland, German, and he taught music to young people.

Some relatives who lived a distance from us, asked my daughters if I would like a solar chime. They had recently received one at the death of beloved family member, and they very much appreciated it. And so they brought it to the funeral home, and sat it on a table by a lamp.

I did not know anything about it, except that I occasionally heard this sweet little chiming sound. My daughters told me about it after the viewing at the funeral home. The next morning was the funeral, and we had a musical farewell to my husband, and throughout the service this sweet little tinkle of sound would chime. I looked at it, and felt that my husband was sending me the message that he was still with us. I brought it home.

The next morning I walked from the bedroom to the living room, speaking out loud because no one else was here, that "I wish you were here". And immediately the chimes began to chime. Later that day, my daughter called, and we talked for about an hour, crying and laughing, and every so often, the chimes would sound, and I would say, laughingly, "I think your Father is agreeing with us - the chimes are ringing." So at different times, I hear the chimes and feel that he is close.

One friend said to me that "you are going to get a lot of mileage out of those chimes". That was after he admitted that he still had a lot to learn, as he was trying to follow in the footsteps of my husband in music. The chimes chimed - and I said, "See, the chimes are chiming - Keith agrees with you".

So, Friend, I know that that was not the purpose intended by you, but I want you to know that it has given me much comfort. Actually, I am a retired school teacher, and not prone to being "weird". So this is a bit of a new experience for me, also. But it is the best gift that I could have ever received, and I would not have had that pleasure, if your talent had not dreamt it.

PS - My daughter said the first time that her chimes rang, she had been thinking about the night before when they were giving some of her home-made tomato juice to our little great-grandson. He liked it, but he made such a funny face and did a full body "shiver' each time, that they were all laughing at him. Thinking about this, my daughter said out loud, "Well, Jason, you will just have to drink Papaw's share this summer". And the chimes rang for the first time."
